Tinplate Company of India has received approval for an expansion plan, investing in putting up an additional capacity of 3,00,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) at Jamshedpur. The project is expected to be completed in about 3 years. The estimated capital expenditure towards the project is around Rs 1,800 crore (net of taxes). The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on August 28, 2021 approved an expansion plan.
The company is the producer of tin coated and tin free steel sheets in India having its headquarter in Kolkata, West Bengal and works located at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
