Physical Rubber prices witnessed weakness on Thursday amidst buyer resistance in the market, while expectations of subsequent improvement in arrivals following positive change in weather condition too pressurized rubber prices. But, improved demand from certain tyre makers capped further fall in rubber prices. Spot prices for RSS-4 variety fell to Rs 179.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 180.50/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety declined to Rs 178/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 178.50/ kg.
In the futures market, September delivery gained to Rs 179.40 compared to its previous closing of Rs 179.28 on the Indian Commodity Exchange Limited (ICEX).
