Bhupendra Patel sworn-in as 17th CM of Gujarat

BJP leader and first-term MLA Bhupendra Patel today took oath as the 17th chief minister (CM) of Gujarat. He was sworn in by Governor Acharya Devvrat at a simple ceremony in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and chief ministers of some BJP-ruled states, including Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Goa CM Pramod Sawant at the Raj Bhavan. Bhupendra Patel was unanimously elected BJP legislature party leader Yesterday. The party said that the council of ministers will take oath during the next few days after their names are finalised. With state Assembly polls scheduled in December 2022, the BJP is banking on Patel, a Patidar, for poll victory.
