Asian Markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Thursday

Most of the Asian equity benchmarks traded lower in early deals on Thursday, despite broadly positive cues from Wall Street overnight. Concerns about global economic recovery following worsening corona-virus pandemic situation globally coupled with climb in energy stocks weighed on market sentiments. Chinese shares declined on concerns about the liquidity crisis at Chinese property giant Evergrande Group, while casino shares in Hong Kong mostly seeing another day of sharp losses. Japanese shares fell due to rising tensions over the nation's security after two ballistic missiles fired by North Korea landed in Japanese territorial waters.

Nikkei 225 down by 195.69 points or 0.64% to 30,316.02, Hang Seng shrunk by 494.39 points or 1.97% to 24,538.82, Taiwan Weighted lower by 66.47 points or 0.38% to 17,287.53, KOSPI diminished 13.77 points or 0.44% to 3,139.63, and Shanghai Composite trimmed by 32.53 points or 0.89% to 3,623.69.

On the flip side, Straight times rose by 8.75 points or 0.29% to 3,067.36, and Jakarta Composite increased marginally by 1.56 points or 0.03% to 6,111.79.
