Copper futures settled lower on Friday as the strengthening US dollar against its major rivals triggered selling in metals. However, some losses were capped after Chinese central bank PBoC injected liquidity into its financial system to ease nerves caused by property giant China Evergrande Group's debt crisis.
Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.0355 to settle at $4.2460 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.58 percent at $9,312 a ton.
