Gold futures settled higher for second consecutive session on Tuesday, kindled by a softer dollar and the safe haven bullion bets amid fears on contagion from debt-laden Chinese developer Evergrande and still lingering rapid spread of covid-9 infections.
Gold futures for December rose by $14.4 or 0.8% to settle at $1778.20 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold was up by 0.5% at $1,772.96 per ounce.
