Physical rubber prices ruled weak on Thursday. Information on an improvement in production since the peak season is at its early days kept the buyers on sidelines though the arrivals were still low.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety lowered to Rs 171/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 172/ kg, while RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 167/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 168/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of November delivery expired at Rs 171 compared to its previous close of Rs 171.58, while December delivery weakened to Rs 172.36 compared to its previous close of Rs 173.07 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
