United Breweries declines as CCI imposes penalty of Rs 751.83 crore for price fixing

United Breweries is currently trading at Rs. 1552.30, down by 54.20 points or 3.37% from its previous closing of Rs. 1606.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1551.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1593.60 and Rs. 1536.75 respectively. So far 24877 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1685.00 on 23-Sep-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 898.50 on 29-Oct-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1685.00 and Rs. 1510.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 41187.71 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.71%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.06% and 6.23% respectively.

Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed penalty of Rs 751.83 crore on United Breweries for cartelisation in the sale and supply of beer. CCI found that the company engaged in price coordination, which is in violation of competition norms.

United Breweries is maker of Kingfisher beer and Heineken beer in India.
