Gold futures settled lower on Wednesday as the US dollar and US Treasury bond yields continued rising with expectations the US central bank could begin winding down its economic support measures in November and an interest rate hike, possibly in late 2022.
Gold futures for December dipped by $14.6 to settle at $1722.9 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold was down 0.7% at $1,722.50 per ounce.
