Congress workers today staged protest near the BJP headquarters and outside the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Bhawan against the violent clash held yesterday in Lakhimpur Kheri that left four farmers dead. The protest was carried out under the leadership of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Anil Choudhary.
Eight people were killed as violence erupted after a car hit protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri. The incident was reported minutes before UP deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was to visit the area. The farmers were protesting against the three central farm laws. Security has been strengthened outside the Bhawan in view of protest called by the Indian Youth Congress.
