Copper futures ended higher on Thursday tracked by a rebound on global equities, while global investors eyed key US jobs data for any fresh insight into the timing of US Federal Reserve tapering. Further, supply disruption worries at a mine in Peru, the world’s second-biggest producer of the metal, too supported copper prices’ uptrend.
Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0960 to settle at $4.2435 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 2.59 percent at $9,280 a ton.
