Independent MLA Ram Singh Kaida from Bhimtal in Uttarakhand joined BJP today. He is the third MLA from the state to join the BJP before next year's Assembly elections in the state and in the last month. Kaida joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Smriti Irani, General Secretary and Uttarakhand in charge Dushyant Gautam, in charge of the party's media department and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni and state BJP president Madan Kaushik at the party headquarters in Delhi.
Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Uttarakhand next year. Seven Indian states are gearing up for Assembly elections 2022. While 5 states will go to polls in the first quarter of 2022, the other two states will vote in the last 2 months of that year.
