Copper futures ended higher on Monday due to worries of a disruption in metals production amid the energy crisis globally. However, stronger American currency in the overseas markets capped further gains in base metal prices. Meanwhile, the market was waiting for the official announcement of US tapering the bond purchase in November.
Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0910 to settle at $4.3665 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 1.94 percent at $9,543 a ton.
