Wipro has notched the top place in the Greenpeace’s Guide to Greener Electronics list in its maiden appearance. The software major has surpassed global giants such as Apple, Samsung, Dell and Nokia among others. Based on the commitment and progress in three environment criteria - energy and climate, greener products and sustainable operations, Wipro has topped the list of 16 electronic companies across the world.
Due to the company’s effort to embrace renewable energy and advocacy for greener energy policies in India has led the company scoring most of the points.
Besides, as per the 18th version of Greenpeace’s Guide report, Wipro has also scored well for post-consumer e-waste collection for recycling and for phasing out hazardous substances from its products.
