Asian markets ended mostly higher on Thursday, tracking broad gains in US stocks overnight. Japanese shares advanced on the back of gains in technology stocks, while a weaker yen against the US dollar boosted demand for Japanese exporters. However, Chinese shares ended lower as stocks of Chinese property developers fell after ratings agency S&P Global delivered fresh downgrades to two of the sector's bigger firms. Meanwhile, Hong Kong Stock Exchange was closed on Chung Yeung Day.
