Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals (GACL) has offered online order booking for the dealers of its caustic and other chemical products with an objective to bring transparency in pricing and efficiency in booking mechanism. Dealers would be allotted user ID and password to access the portal. Initially, only five products will be out for online booking. Further, dealers can book any quantity through the portal based on the average of the orders placed in the past four months. Meanwhile, this is for the first time any state PSU has gone online for order booking.
Recently, the company was planning to set up another 10.5 MW wind farm project in Kutch district after commissioning 10.5 MW wind farm project during fiscal year 2011-12. It aims to increase total capacity of wind farm projects to 21 MW after this new project. Currently, GACL in association with Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) developing technology for manufacturing 8,000 TPA Hydrazine Hydrate Project.
