Copper futures ended lower on Tuesday on worries about the ongoing liquidity crisis in the world’s top metal consumer China’s property sector. Moreover, energy shortages in China and electricity price hikes in Europe also dampened investors' demand for red metal.
Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.0260 to settle at $4.3730 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.88 percent at $9,553 a ton.
