Copper futures ended higher on Thursday due to strong industrial demand. Further, the US dollar slipping back from a 16-month peak makes dollar-denominated metals cheaper for holders of other currencies. However, rising inflation and expectations of US interest rate hikes capped further gains in copper.
Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0385 to settle at $4.3045 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.37 percent at $9,441.50 a ton.
