Copper futures ended higher on Wednesday as global investors enlarged positions, despite firmer US dollar with expectations the US Federal Reserve might move faster than anticipated to hike interest rates. Also, tight supplies in the global markets supported copper prices’ uptrend.
Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0355 to settle at $4.4590 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 1.28 percent at $9,835 a ton.
