Coal India’s supply of coal to power sector rises by 22.7% in April-October

Coal India’s (CIL) supply of coal to power sector registered 22.7% jump to 291.72 million tonne (MT) in the first seven months of the ongoing fiscal year. The company had dispatched 237.75 MT of coal to the power sector in April-October period of 2020-21. The supply of coal to the power sector by the company during the last month also increased 21.7 per cent to 47.67 MT, over 39.17 MT in the year-ago period. Coal India accounts for over 80 per cent of the domestic coal output.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
