Tata Steel to augment iron ore production

Tata Steel is focusing on augmenting iron ore production from 30 million tonne per annum (mtpa) to 45 mtpa in the next five years. The total iron ore production from the steelmakers’ captive mines in Noamundi in Jharkhand and in Katamati, Joda and Khondbond blocks in Odisha, is about 30 mtpa.

Tata Steel, the flagship company of the Tata group is the first integrated steel plant in Asia and is now the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer and a Fortune 500 company.
