Opposition parties stage protest against suspension of 12 RS MPs

Opposition parties staged a joint protest at the Parliament complex in front of the Gandhi statute today against the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha (RS) MPs. 

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and several party leaders, including the Congress, TMC, SP, DMK, Shiv Sena, TRS, NCP, CPI(M), CPI, RJD, IUML, NC, LJD, RSP and Kerala Congress participated in the protest. The protesting MPs were seen carrying placards and raised slogans against the government and demanded that the suspension of the RS members be revoked. 

Leader of Opposition in the RS Mallikarjun Kharge said the suspension of the MPs was undemocratic and demanded that it be revoked. The opposition MPs boycotted yesterday’s proceedings in the RS after staging a walkout. While, Opposition MPs in the LS also staged a walkout, but later joined the proceedings.
