Gold futures trade higher in early deals of Monday, extending Friday’s modest gains with the increased safe haven bets supported by the subdued reading on US jobs and on continued woes over global economic health with the spread of contagious Omicron coronavirus variant. However, slight gains in US Treasury Bond Yields and dollar capped the investment appeal of the bullion. The yellow metal for the most active contract had posted a weekly decline of 0.1%.
Gold futures for December climbed by 0.1% to $1,785.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold is trading unchanged at $1,783.91 per ounce.
