NALCO jumps on raising aluminium prices by Rs 4,500

NALCO is currently trading at Rs. 48.75, up by 2.40 points or 5.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 46.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 47.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 49.90 and Rs. 47.25 respectively. So far 139790 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 68.45 on 16-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 44.00 on 26-Nov-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 49.90 and Rs. 44.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12473.83 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 87.15% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.12% and 3.74% respectively.

The state-run National Aluminium Company (NALCO) has raised aluminium prices by Rs 4,500 per tonne for all products in the domestic market, with effect from December 1, 2012. After this revision, the basic price of standard aluminium will be Rs 1,43,700 per tonne.

NALCO, which is India's third-largest producer of aluminium, revises product prices from time to time to mirror London Metal Exchange prices. It last raised aluminium prices across all products by Rs 2,500 in November.
