Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals (GACL) and GAIL India have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a 500 KLD bioethanol plant at an estimated investment of Rs 1,000 crore in Gujarat. This joint venture between state government-owned GACL and GAIL is another step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals is engaged in business of manufacturing basic chemicals such as sodium cyanide, sodium ferrocyanide, chloromethanes, hydrochloric acid, caustic potash, potassium carbonate, phosphoric acid (85%) and hydrogen peroxide.
