Gold futures settled higher on Thursday, as the investment appeal of the bullion got kindled by the retreat in US Treasury bond yields and on hedge appeal of the bullion amid looming concerns over global economic health. However firmer dollar capped some gains in the session.

Gold futures for February climbed by $8.30 or 0.5% to finish at $ 1814.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold gained by 0.5% at $1,813.16 per ounce.
