Coal India’s production rises 3.3% to 60.2 MT in December

Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 3.3% to 60.2 million tonnes (MT) in December, 2021 as against 58.3 MT in December 2020. The company’s production in the April- December 2021 period increased 5.3 per cent to 413.6 MT, compared with 392.8 MT in the year-ago period.  

The company's offtake also increased by 15.7% to 60.7 MT in December, 2021, over 52.5 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- December 2021 period also increased by 17.6% to 481.8 MT over 409.6 MT in the year-ago period. 

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
