Physical Rubber prices witnessed firmness on Monday due to improved demand at domestic spot markets after reports of ANRPC that natural rubber prices will likely gain in the short-term in the global market on impending seasonal short-supply and increasing demand from China. Although, increased tapping of trees and weakened demand from tyre industry along with worries of accelerated spread of Omicron corona-virus variant have capped further gains in rubber prices.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety gained to Rs 166/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 165/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety rose to Rs 162/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 161/ kg.
