Gold futures finished higher on Tuesday, whetted by the safe haven appeal of the bullion with the lingering fears over accelerated spread in Omicron infections and on restrictions to contain it. Moreover, technical buying after previous session’s two week lowest settlement also supported the gain. Apparently, strength in US Treasury Bond Yield capped further gains.
Gold futures for February up by 0.8% or $14.50 to settle at $1814.60 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold jumped by 0.8% to $1,814.45 per ounce.
