Physical Rubber prices witnessed firmness on Tuesday due to improved demand following an unexpected drop in arrivals in the market. Lack of quantity sellers even at higher levels also kept the rubber market on the positive side, while the overall volume continued to remain low. Although, increased tapping of trees and worries of accelerated spread of Omicron corona-virus variant have capped further gains in rubber prices.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety gained to Rs 166.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 166/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety rose to Rs 162.50/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 162/ kg.
