Gold futures settled higher for second straight session on Wednesday, as the risk aversion in the market amidst lingering Omicron spread fears, dulled equities and supported yellow metal investments. Moreover, a weaker dollar made the greenback denominated bullion cheaper for other currency holders. However, the yellow metal retreated after the release of hawkish Federal Reserve minutes.
Gold futures for February up by 0.6% or $10.50 to $1,825.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold jumped by 0.2% to $1,810.56 per ounce.
