Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati will not contest the upcoming Uttar Pradesh (UP) Assembly elections, Party General Secretary S C Misra said.
Misra said he too will not contest the state election. The BSP president will not contest the polls and help party candidates win, he added. Mayawati has never contested an Assembly election in the state in the past. The BSP MP also said that neither SP nor BJP will come to power and BSP is going to form the Government in UP. Elections for the 403 Assembly constituencies in UP will be held on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3 and 7 in seven phases. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
