Steel Authority of India’s (SAIL) unit -- Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has received a certificate from the Indian Navy for producing high-strength steel for making submarines. The RSP has so far supplied more than 7,000 tonne of steel, adhering to stringent quality specifications for use in various naval applications.
SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
