Asian Markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Tuesday

Asian equity benchmarks traded mostly lower in early deals on Tuesday, with risk aversion in the market amid worries over economic rebound from pandemic and on anticipations over monetary policy tightening. Investments got saddled with the looming concerns over rampant spread of omicron virus strain. Japan’s Nikkei edged lower in the session retreating from early sessional gains with profit booking at prevailing levels. Japan is awaiting for fresh policy signals from the central bank meeting today. Among the Asian stocks, Japan,Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia, and Malaysia are trading negative. Nikkei 225 down by 83.58 points or 0.29% to 28,249.94, Hang Seng declined by 34.49 points or 0.14% to 24,183.54, Taiwan Weighted climbed by 64.24 points or 0.35% to 18,461.20, KOSPI narrowed by 21.61 points or 0.75% to 2,868.49, and Jakarta Composite down by 93.45 points or 1.41% to 6,551.60, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI lower by 12.41 points or 0.80% to 1,542.92.

On the flip side, Straight times rose by 7.05 points or 0.21% to 3,295.00, and Shanghai Composite lifted by 33.22 points or 0.94% to 3,574.89.
