Gold futures traded slightly lower in early deals on Tuesday, after Monday’s holiday on account of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The yellow metal remained in pressure after Federal Reserve signalled interest rate hike by March. Higher interest rate dulls investment appeal of the non-yielding bullion.
Gold futures for February fell by 0.01% or $0.10 to $1816.40 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold dipped by 0.09% or $1.66 to $1,817.57 per ounce.
