KCP has received an approval to sell/transfer or otherwise dispose of the biotech unit of the company located at Genome Valley, Turkapally village, Alexandria Knowledge Park in Andhra Pradesh. The board at its meeting held on December 07, 2012 has approved for the same. The board has also authorized to conduct a postal ballot to obtain consent of shareholders for the same.
KCP is a diversified business group with interests in heavy engineering, sugar, cement, hydel power, information technology and biotechnology. KCP's cement division has a state-of-the-art cement manufacturing plant at Macherla in Andhra Pradesh.
