Copper futures settled higher on Wednesday, supported by expectations of further policy easing in China, the world’s biggest buyer of metals. Further, soaring international oil prices and falling US dollar also boosted the copper prices.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0875 to settle at $4.4700 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 1.71 percent at $9,841.50 a ton.
