10 Dec 2012 Evaluate

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid calling the Border talks between India and China very complicated and sensitive, assured that the talk is moving in a right direction and can hope for a steady improvement in the overall situation, though will be difficult to have immediate results.

On December 4, the two sides reached a common understanding on the progress made so far in their vexed border talks that will provide a framework for drawing a fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable boundary. Also India's National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon held border talks with his designated Chinese counterpart Dai Bingguo in Beijing last week.

Moreover, Minister denied reports of India freezing development assistance to Maldives on its government's decision to take over the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport in Male from GMR-led consortium, saying it was essentially a legal issue.
