Major Asian Markets closed on Wednesday

Major Asian equity benchmarks are closed on Wednesday because of Lunar New Year holidays. Japanese stocks extended winning streak to the fourth straight session with the rising crude oil and firmer Wall Street. Additionally, strong quarterly earnings and corporate outlooks also lifted investments. However, Tokyo and 33 of the 47 prefectures have been placed under a quasi-state of emergency last week, added lingering concerns. Indonesian stocks are slightly higher in a thin trade after Tuesday’s holiday. Stock markets of Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, China and Malaysia remain closed on observing Lunar New Year holidays.

Nikkei 225 up by 465.96 points or 1.72% to 27,544.44 and Jakarta Composite lifted by 2.91 points or 0.04% to 6,648.42.
