Copper futures ended lower on Monday with worries over inflations and unexpectedly better-than-expected new payrolls in the US in January, which further fuelled speculation among investors globally that the US Federal Reserve could aggressively hike interest rates in its next policy meeting in March. Meanwhile, investors are waiting for the release of US consumer price data for January on Thursday.
Copper futures for March delivery lost $0.0250 to settle at $4.4625 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.65 percent at $9,777.50 a ton.
