A day ahead of the first phase of Uttar Pradesh (UP) Assembly Polls 2022, Congress general Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched the Congress manifesto 'Unnati Vidhan Jan Ghoshna Patra-2022'.
The congress has released three manifestos so far- 'Mahila Vidhan'- for women and 'Bharti Vidhan' for youth today the general one. According to the party’s manifesto, the party has promised 20 lakh jobs, including the 12 lakh vacancies in government jobs. Apart from this, eight lakh more jobs will be given. Students from SC and ST communities will be provided free education from KG to PG. The manifesto promised a compensation of Rs 50 lakhs for COVID warriors who lost their lives in the pandemic. The manifesto said financial assistance of Rs 25,000 will be provided to the families affected by the COVID epidemic. She said that when Congress comes to power, it will waive off loans of farmers within ten days.
Priyanka Gandhi said that all suggestions for the manifesto have been taken from the people of UP. She also accused the BJP of copy-pasting the pledges made by her party in their UP poll manifesto which she termed as ‘dhokha patra’. The 403-member UP Assembly is scheduled to go to the polls in seven phases on February 10. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
