Mahanagar Telephone Nigam’s (MTNL) - Mumbai’s official website - www.mtnlmumbai.in has been conferred the title of most popular website of the year. MTNL Mumbai was in the fray for the best website of the year award in telecom categories. The website of the year India award is the online people’s choice award initiated by online research agency MetrixLab.
The Mumbai’s largest Broadband operator and India’s first 3G Mobile service provider has won the coveted award despite its competitors include some big names in the Indian telecom industry.
MTNL was set up by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, and introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India's key metros -- Delhi and Mumbai.
