IOC to increase LPG bottling capacity by 53% in Northeast region by 2030

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is planning to increase its LPG bottling capacity by nearly 53 per cent in Northeast region to 8 crore cylinders annually by 2030 to meet the growing demand in the region. The proposed new LPG bottling plants will come up in Mizoram, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh at a total investment of Rs 325-350 crore in a combination of wholly-owned and public-private-partnership (PPP) models.

The total investment will be borne by IOC and the private partner, over the next two-three years. The unit in Mizoram will be brownfield, while those in Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya will be set up as greenfield facilities.

IOC is the largest enterprise in the country and the foremost ranked Fortune Global 500 Company in India and has presence in the complete hydrocarbon value chain from downstream refining & marketing, pipeline transportation, Petrochemicals, E&P and Gas Marketing.
