Coal India’s production rises 3.9% to 64.3 MT in February

Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 3.9% to 64.3 million tonnes (MT) in February, 2022 as against 61.9 MT in February 2021. The company’s production in the April- February 2022 period increased 5.3 per cent to 542.4 MT, compared with 51 5.1 MT in the year-ago period.  

The company's offtake also increased by 12% to 57.4 MT in February, 2022, over 51.3 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- February 2022 period also increased by 16.6% to 599.9 MT over 514.4 MT in the year-ago period. 

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
