Essar Steel’s Hazira plant has received the Gold Award in the Metals Sector, Mega Large Business category, at the Indian Manufacturing Excellence Awards (IMEA) 2012. This award is instituted by Economic Times and Frost & Sullivan, was held at the Hyatt Regency, Mumbai, on December 14, 2012.

The award is based on a stringent three-day audit of Lean manufacturing practices at the Hazira facility. More than 100 sites are assessed every year covering a spectrum of manufacturing industries across India.

Essar Steel is a fully integrated flat carbon steel manufacturer from iron ore to ready-to-market products. Its products find wide acceptance in highly discerning consumer sectors, such as automotive, white goods, construction, engineering and shipbuilding.
