Reliance Industries, Wipro and Omaxe to see some action today

Reliance Industries has signed a formal shareholder agreement for the $2 billion TA'ZIZ chemical joint venture in the UAE and inked a pact to collaborate with ADNOC in finding and producing conventional and unconventional resources. Under the terms of a strategic agreement, Reliance and TA'ZIZ will build plants with the capacity to produce 940,000 tonnes per annum of Chlor-alkali, 1.1 million tonnes a year of ethylene dichloride and 360,000 tonnes per year of polyvinyl chloride at the TA'ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone.

Continuing on its inorganic play, Wipro has announced the acquisition of Rizing Intermediate Holdings, a global SAP consulting firm, for a consideration of $540 million (around Rs 4,060 crore). The company stated that the acquisition will significantly expand its breadth of capabilities in helping businesses transform into intelligent enterprises.

Omaxe has raised Rs 440 crore from Varde Partners, a leading global alternative investment firm. It will deploy the funds for expediting construction and delivery of its projects as well as for expansion.  Omaxe Group is developing integrated townships in New Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Indore and Faridabad. It is also developing a multilevel parking cum commercial project in PPP model with North Delhi Municipal Corporation in Chandni Chowk, Delhi scheduled for delivery in this fiscal. The Group has so far delivered around 127.89 million sq. ft. (till December 2021) in real estate and construction contracting.

Zydus Lifesciences’ novel COVID-19 vaccine, ZyCoV-D has received Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) as a two dose vaccine. With this approval, the vaccine will now be administered on day 0 and day 28. Earlier, the vaccine was approved in a three dose regimen to be administered on day 0, day 28 and day 56.
