Asian markets trade in green in early deals on Friday

Asian markets traded in green in early deals on Friday, in tandem with the positive cues from Wall Street overnight. Technological stocks led gains in the session. Short covering at prevailing levels and upbeat corporate earnings results boosted the market sentiments. Even though, Japanese and Indonesian stock markets are closed for Showa Day and Eid al-Fitr holidays, respectively. Shanghai stocks advanced as the covid cases dip and on optimism over dovish measures by the policy makers in efforts to bolster the economy. Coronavirus infection cases in Shanghai declined for a fifth day on Wednesday to the lowest in more than three weeks.

Straight times rose 27.22 points or 0.82% to 3,362.31, Hang Seng enlarged by 410.13 points or 2.02% to 20,686.30, Taiwan lifted by 158.90 points or 0.97% to 16,578.28, KOSPI increased by 21.70 points or 0.81% to 2,689.19, Shanghai higher by 11.06 points or 0.37% to 2,986.54, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI buoyed by 2.78 points or 0.17% to 1,600.09.
