IOC wins Energy Conservation Award

State-run Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOC) refineries located at Haldia in West Bengal and Digboi in Assam and naphtha cracker unit at Panipat in Haryana have won Energy Conservation Award. The award was received by the company from President at a glittering ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan.

The company’s Haldia refinery was bestowed the first prize among all the refineries while Digboi refinery bagged the second prize in the coveted awards and made a record by being in the top positions for the fourth consecutive year. Besides, Panipat naphtha cracker also won the award in the petrochemicals sector for its commitment towards energy efficiency and energy conservation.

National Energy Conservation Award has been instituted by the Power Ministry in order to intensify the energy conservation initiatives. These awards are given in 11 major categories covering 35 different sub-sectors of large and medium scale industries mainly on the basis of improvement in specific energy and energy conservation initiatives.

IOC is the largest enterprise in the country and the foremost ranked Fortune Global 500 Company in India and has presence in the complete hydrocarbon value chain from downstream refining & marketing, pipeline transportation, Petrochemicals, E&P and Gas Marketing.
