The Budget Session of Uttar Pradesh (UP) assembly started today with Samajwadi Party (SP) members protesting during the governor’s address.
When UP governor Anandiben Patel started her speech, SP members began raising slogans, showing placards in the well of the House over issues related to law and order, farmers, stray cattle and rape. They also raised slogans against the governor. Then the assembly has been adjourned till 11 am tomorrow. Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath, Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav and Abdullah Azam were present in the House among others.
Before the start of the Budget session, CM Yogi Adityanath said the government is ready to discuss all issues related to public. And this budget is important for the development of 25 crore people of UP, for the development of citizens and overall development of the society. This is the first session of the UP assembly after the BJP government returned to power after the recently held state polls. The state's budget will be presented on May 26 and the Budget Session is scheduled to go till May 31.
