Opposition BJP legislators walk out from the West Bengal Assembly today demanding a statement from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the law and order situation of the state.
After the Question Hour, the BJP members stood up from their seats, demanded a statement on post-poll violence and the recent unrest in the state. The BJP members entered the well of the house and demanded that chief minister Mamata Banerjee should come to the house and make a statement on the Birbhum killings. Speaker Biman Banerjee tried to pacify the BJP MLAs by saying the Chief Minister's statement was already in newspapers following her visit to the village on Thursday.
The BJP members staged a noisy walkout from the assembly by raising slogans and also staged a protest at the portico of the assembly, by carrying placards that had 'Manush mara sarkar, aar nei dorkar' written on them.
